Business park boost as firm signs up
April 3, 2009

A major medical company has moved its headquarters to Ashford’s ever-expanding Eureka Business Park.

Smiths Medical International which specialises in making medical devices and accessories has taken a 15-year lease at the new Herald office building.

A rent of £19.50 per square foot was agreed, which marks a new record rent for the site and is an important milestone in the Kent business rental market.

The company has signed up for the first and second floors of the three-storey building following the relocation of its international business headquarters from Hythe.

The centre will serve as an important training and education centre for healthcare professionals and distributor customers. One floor of the building remains available.

Tristram Gethin, director of Quadrant Estates that manages the park said: “Despite the economic downturn, Eureka Park is continuing to attract leading companies by offering high quality buildings at competitive rents.”

Herald is a steel and glass office building that forms the second phase of offices at Eureka Park.
